S=Staying:  Silence & Solitude

Who are you?  It probably depends on who you ask.  You may be defined by a title like son, father, or uncle.  You may be defined by a job like youth pastor, waiter or pizza delivery guy.  Then there are the not so flattering identities like stupid, ugly or geek.  To fight some of these identities we put on fake identities.  We play to the crowd.  We laugh and joke when we want to cry.  Then to avoid the dissonance between our true selves and the false identities we crank up the noise.  Silence and solitude make us uncomfortable because it is there that we are alone with no one to put on a face for.  It's just you, the real you, and God.  God knows you through and through.

During your time of ministry find time to be alone.  Get away from the crowd and go to the lonely place where you can be your true self.  Just you and God.  Once you know who you are with just Him, you'll become more comfortable being you out in the world.
